Larix kaempferi 'Wolterdingen'

from 25.00

From a witch's broom found in 1970 by Gunter Horstmann near the town of Wolterdingen, this larch is an irregular slanting/upright dwarf with plenty of branch layering. Lush soft 3/4" green needles appear in the spring to be covered over by blue ones during the summer flush which is apparent in many of the kaempferi. In fall the foliage turns a warm yellow color. Wolterdingen can easily grow 4"-6" a year once established resulting in a 24"H x 18"W plant in 10 years time. Full sun.  Zone 4.  A Wabi Sabi Favorite!
